Our commitment to you is an immersive week of learning, energy experience, rejuvenation, instruction, relaxation, movement, somatic learning and nutritious food. You will learn the ancient energy maps of Yin and Yang and come away from the retreat having restored energy levels, calmed the mind and had  the experience of a lifetime. You’ll have the tools to carry on feeling amazing once returning home by knowing how to manage your own life-force energy. 

Each day we will examine and build a solid understanding of the 6 phases of Qi in the body. This will create a thorough foundation for your life force energy. 

We will explore the ancient Traditional Chinese Medicine philosophy known as seasonal Five Element theory and how to apply it to your life everyday for health, healing and improved vitality.

This is a seven-night Qigong Immersion Retreat which will run from Saturday 11th October until Saturday 18th October 2024. Check-in will be from 3pm on the Saturday and checkout will be 11am on the following Saturday.

How to get there

Air travel:

The nearest airport is Malaga (AGP) which is only a short 1 hour’s drive to the venue via A45 or A46(toll road). 

The nearest alternative airports are in Granada (1hr 30 mins drive), Gibraltar (2 hr 15 mins drive) and Seville (2 hr 30 mins drive). 

It’s quite easy to rent a car from Malaga and something you may wish to consider. The venue is a 15 minute drive (10 km) from the nearest town (Antequera) so if you might wish to get out and about to explore the beautiful local countryside during your stay, you may consider hiring a car.

Airport transfers can be arranged on request. Please let us know your flight details as soon as they are confirmed to help co-ordinate transfers.

Meet Tim and Holly: Your guides to Qigong, wellness, and a healthier you

Holly Kellam 

I’m here to help you achieve a balanced and healthier lifestyle through Qigong and holistic wellness practices. With a background as an accredited RTT coach, wellness author, advanced RYT certified yoga therapist/instructor, TCM seasonal yoga & qigong teacher and certified hypnotherapist, I bring a unique blend of expertise to my teaching, focusing not only on physical fitness but also on mental, emotional and spiritual wellbeing.

My journey into the world of wellness began after experiencing a life changing event while walking solo on the Camino de Santiago in Spain. It was a transformative experience for me, helping me regain my own self empowerment as well as the mental and emotional health necessary to find balance. Now, I’m dedicated to helping others do the same.

My superpowers include finding four-leaf clovers, finding humour and being a rolling stone whether for play or work (current country count: 72). 

Tim Kellam 

Tim has been a teacher and practitioner of tai chi and qigong for over 30 years. His extensive training and practice started in Cornwall. He found that it gave him peace and patience when life was pulling the rug out from under his feet. Once he found a practice that brought him a sense of balance, harmony and connection, he never looked back. Along with his studies in holistic therapy he loves to travel, particularly through the lens of high adventure sports. You might find him anywhere in the world skiing, surfing and foiling — basically any where there is water; be it frozen or flowing. 

Tim’s super powers: abstract transcendental mandala artist, energy balancing and secret funny man. 

We cater to all levels, from beginners to advanced, ensuring that each session is tailored to your needs and goals. Whether you’re new to Qigong, Tai Chi or dealing with body issues, looking to build strength, overcoming obstacles, or simply seeking a way to manage stress, our classes offer a welcoming space for everyone.

We also teach Qigong and yoga classes online via zoom and offer retreats and therapeutic and coaching sessions at our beautiful purpose-built riverside studio in Newquay, Cornwall. 

These retreats, whether in Cornwall or abroad provide an opportunity to step away from daily stresses, focus on your health, and return feeling rejuvenated and empowered. We’re truly excited about the opportunity to welcome you to what promises to be an amazing week in this stunning Andalusian setting. Here’s a glimpse of what you can expect each day:

Example Retreat Day (this schedule may change) 

• 6:30 AM: Hot water, tea and coffee are available for early risers to enjoy a peaceful start to the morning.
• 7:00 AM: Morning meditation and gentle Qigong practice to help set the tone for the day.
• 8:30 AM: A nourishing breakfast to refuel and energise you for the day ahead.
• 11:00AM: Morning session: theory, philosophy and movement instruction to strengthen and align your body
• 1:00 PM: Lunch plus time for a leisurely walk, lush body work, enjoying the pool, reading, or just soaking in the peaceful environment.
• 4:30 PM: Afternoon session: deep dive wellbeing session with us focused on enhancing your overall health, personal growth to build your own personal wellbeing tool kit. Qigong flows designed according to the energy phase we’ve covered that day.
• 6:30 PM: A delicious dinner where you can connect with fellow retreaters.

Retreat venue

Our retreat venue is set amidst a luscious and productive olive farm in the heart of nature. The main house is a newly refurbished Andalusian country farm house and is set against a stunning backdrop rich with olive groves and mountains. The olive groves stretch across 15,000 sq meters of golden coloured Spanish countryside. 

The retreat centre is a peaceful haven designed to help you rediscover your true source of power and reignite your passion for living a fully engaged life. Expect beautiful accommodations and exquisite food that perfectly complements our retreat activities. This isn’t just a retreat; it’s an opportunity to deepen your practice, meet like-minded people, and return home feeling refreshed and transformed.

This Spanish Qigong retreat is designed for singles or couples so if your partner does not practise Qigong there is plenty for you to enjoy together after your daily practise. You can relax and read by the pool, walk in nature and explore the beautiful countryside or book an holistic treatment session. The treatment sessions offered include both massage, etc and one to one sessions with Tim and Holly. Then join us in the afternoon for your Qigong sessions before a delicious evening meal together.

Accommodation is based on a twin or double shared basis. If there is anyone you would like to share with please let us know upon booking. There are a limited number of single rooms available for an additional fee. Please contact us directly for availability.

The meals 

The food served at the retreat is based on a fresh whole healthy vegetarian cuisine. Vegan, GF or other requirements can be catered for upon request. Food is prepared fresh every day by the wonderful retreat chefs. If you have any food allergies/sensitivities, please let us know upon booking. You are welcome to help yourself to self-service tea & coffee. 

In case you’re hungry outside of mealtimes, you also have access to coffee, tea and fresh fruit.

And finally the t&c’s

In the unlikely event that HOLLY KELLAM must cancel the event, all monies paid for the retreat will be fully refunded. However, HOLLY KELLAM will not be liable for any other costs incurred, such as flights, transport, airport parking, hotels, etc. To cover such possibilities, it is highly recommended and compulsory that participants take out adequate travel insurance.

Please note that the booking deposit of £145 is strictly non-refundable. If you, as a participant, need to cancel your booking, written confirmation will be required. Cancellations made prior to 12 weeks before the retreat will be eligible for a 30% refund. Unfortunately, no refunds can be offered for cancellations made on or after 12 weeks before the retreat start date.
